Technical Officials Qualifications

At Swim Rotorua, we strongly encourage parents of swimmers to train as timekeepers at swim meets. Without your assistance, we would not be able to host any events. Once you qualify as a timekeeper, you can also train to become an Inspector of Turns (IOT). Again, without parents fulfilling this role, we couldn’t run any Swimming New Zealand sanctioned meets.

If you’re interested, please contact recorder@swimrotorua.org.nz.

Should you wish to pursue further qualifications, Swimming Bay of Plenty is happy to support you on your journey to becoming a regionally qualified Starter, Judge of Strokes, and ultimately a Referee.

All nationally qualified officials at Swim Rotorua began their journey as timekeepers..
